Summer post

OK, so I am not so great at updating this blog! I am going to aim to do a seasonal post, and if I get to more, bonus! When I am not editing or ordering, I like to be off the computer with the fam or cleaning the house (not as much fun as the family, but necessary!) Anyway, here are a few of my favorite photos from late Spring through now. Enjoy!
This first couple and baby were so great! Little baby G was such a good baby for his shoot and what a beautiful pregnant woman.

What a great daddy!
I have been photographing little L way before she was even born. She is just so cute and is blessed to have such great parents too!

I am so enjoying shooting high school seniors more and more. What a smile on this one!

Need I say more!! Love the princess look mixed with the old brick and grafitti. This was done at one of my new favorite locations (mums the word)! I have also photographed this family before and it was great to work with them again.

This was a first for me, their kids did not talk or move, how easy! Just kidding, this couple was awesome. They have been married for a long time, but you would think they were newlyweds, I wanted to know their secret! Their babies, their beautiful bikes. They were inspiring.

Another high school senior at my new favorite location. You would have thought I distressed that paint myself to blend with his shirt and eyes! What a genunie young man (I feel old) to work with.
OK, how cute are this mom and daughter! Her first girl after three boys. Her youngest boy below was so cooperative and had me do the "chicken dance" (for all you regulars, you would know what this is!) plenty of times. He made me laugh. The whole family was so great to photograph, we had lots of laughing.

Those blue eyes!!

1st Post of 2009, Finally!!

Wow, it has been a whirlwind since September and I finally feel back in the swing of things. A big thank you to all my clients for such a great year and season. I so enjoy what I do and feel blessed to be able to do my job and stay home with my kids. We had a great Christmas and New Years. We mostly stayed in town and spent time with family.

I just published my new site for 2009. And no, I did not change the song to all of you who always beg me not too! I love it too! But I changed just about everything else. Most of the photos are new and LOTS of new information. I know we all have so much spare time (hee hee) so if you can find time, please read through all the new information and pricing. Also my online proofing and ordering is also a bit different, but better. If it gets confusing at all feel free to give me a buzz.

I have done a lot of research this winter about prices and scheduling and keeping things balanced. Some of my prices have gone up, however, I want to be affordable, I love to find great quality things for an affordable price. For those of you who know me, know that I love a good bargin and can't resist Walmart or Costco. My husband always jokes about me sharing all my bargin prices with people, but I cannot help it! If I find a good deal, that also has high quality I want to share it with everyone. After all is said and done, I put about 5-6 hours into each client, before an order is even placed. Included in this is my time to get to you, my shooting time (no fees for longer sessions, I want people to feel relaxed and not rushed,) and most importantly my editing time. What goes into editing and why does it take so darn long?? First I spend at least a half an hour doing the first narrowing down of images, then another 2-3 hours of narrowing down even more, cropping, color enhancing, light adjusting and most of the time I do some retouching that you may not even know I do. I am very picking about the final image and the balance of light and clarity. Many photographers hire this editing part out, but I think it is important to do the whole process myself since I know you as the client and know more about what you may or may not like. I take it very personally, I get to know people quickly and I am a people pleaser. I would give discount prices to everyone if I could, even shoot for free, but I have learned that I need to stick with the prices that I have researched to be fair to all my clients and to myself.
Anyway, now that I have voiced what I thought was important to share, I want to show some of my favorite images from this past busy season. Thanks again for all of you who support me in what I do. I am looking forward to a great 2009 and hope to be posting more often! Coming soon Wall Collage Photos!

New Holiday Cards

Look soon for New Holiday card designs. I will be offering 10-15 new 5x7 photo card styles this year. You will be able to choose a style for your card, or a new design can be made from scratch for a $25 set up fee. I am very excited about what I have come up with. I have contemplated hiring this part of my business out, but graphic design is such a passion for me as well as photography and I am so excited I decided to take the time to design the cards myself, it was time consuming, but so much fun! New card choices should be on my site within 5-10 days. The earlier you order your cards the better for you and me.

Day Light Savings

This is what I loved about daylight savings time, watching the kids run around while the sun was going down and it was cooling off at 9:30 at night. In fact next year I may offer a day light savings shoot because I love to see kids ratty from the day and just having fun, totally being themselves! This is my son little e. He looks just like his Dad (nothing like me.)

This summer he was all about the butterfly's and bugs, and as you can see he would rather be shirtless (which I think is so cute!) Also, their favorite past time this summer was jumping on the neighbors new trampoline. We are like family around here, so they can use it whenever they want!! It is a really safe one too which make me happy (my husband calls me Captain Saftey.) My daughter is not in these, look for some of her soon!
